Suitable for freezing

Our gammon hock is a traditional bone-in cured pork cut, individually packed and full of rich flavour. Taken from the lower leg, it is ideal for slow cooking, boiling, soups, stews, broths and classic ham hock recipes.

Supplied on the bone, gammon hock develops incredible flavour during cooking while the meat becomes beautifully tender and easy to pull apart. Whether you're making pea and ham soup, a hearty casserole or shredded ham hock, this traditional cut rewards low and slow cooking.

Gammon hock is a fantastic value cut for proper home cooking. Use it for pea and ham soup, slow cooker gammon hock, casseroles, pies, terrines or simply shred the cooked meat for sandwiches and salads.

Hand-prepared, so weight may vary slightly.

Cooking Instructions

How to Cook Gammon Hock

Gammon hock is best cooked slowly until the meat is tender and easy to pull away from the bone.

Place the gammon hock in a large pan or slow cooker and cover with cold water. You can add onion, carrot, celery, bay leaves or peppercorns for extra flavour if you like.

Simmer gently on the hob for around 2 to 3 hours, or cook in a slow cooker on low for around 6 to 8 hours, until the meat is soft and pulls apart easily.

Once cooked, allow the hock to cool slightly, then remove the meat from the bone and shred or slice as needed.
