British or Irish chuck steak, expertly prepared by our butchers from the shoulder, a cut prized for its deep beefy flavour and excellent performance when slow cooked.
Naturally well suited to braising, slow cooking, and long, gentle cooking, chuck steak becomes beautifully tender and rich when cooked low and slow. Supplied as whole steaks, it gives you the flexibility to braise each piece individually or cut it into your preferred portion sizes at home.
A classic cut for hearty family meals and traditional dishes, offering dependable results and outstanding flavour. Best cooked low and slow for maximum tenderness.

How to Cook Chuck Steak
Remove steak from packaging and rest at room temperature for 5 minutes before cooking. Heat a frying pan or griddle pan until very hot, brush the meat with a little oil, and seal the meat on both sides for 2 - 3 minutes in total. Transfer to a casserole dish, add your choice of vegetables and stock/gravy, and braise in the oven at 180°C/ Fan 160°C/ Gas 4 for 2 hours 30 minutes, or until tender.
