Hello Sarah,

Thank you for your question!

Traditionally a Picnic Ham is cut from the shoulder of the front leg, and Ham is cut from the rear leg. A Picnic Ham is smaller (why not take it on a picnic?), less expensive, but can still be carved off the bone. In terms of taste, they will both be very similar.

Hope this helps!

The Butcher

Which is the best joint and how do you cook it to get the best crackling?

Chris

Hello ‘The Butcher’,

I was just wondering what the difference is between a picnic ham and normal ham?

Thanks

Sarah
