This Privacy Policy describes how TruBytes Delivery Date Picker (the “App”), developed by TruBytes (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and protects information when installed and used by Shopify merchants.

This policy applies only to the TruBytes Delivery Date Picker app and not to the TruBytes website or any other services.

1. Information We Collect

When you install and use the App, we may collect and store the following information:

Merchant & Store Data

  • Shopify store domain

  • Store settings and configuration data

  • Session and authentication data (stored securely using Prisma)

Order & Delivery Data

  • Order IDs

  • Selected delivery dates

  • Delivery methods (shipping, local delivery, collection)

  • Delivery notes entered by customers

  • Delivery trends and aggregated reporting data

Customer Data

  • Customer display name (as provided by Shopify)

  • Delivery date selections associated with an order

We do not collect customer email addresses, payment details, or full delivery addresses.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data strictly to provide and operate the App’s functionality, including:

  • Allowing customers to select delivery dates before checkout

  • Enforcing delivery limits, lead times, and availability rules

  • Displaying delivery options and countdown timers

  • Generating delivery trends and reports for merchants

  • Maintaining secure app sessions and authentication

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • App configuration, delivery data, and trends are stored using Shopify metafields

  • Session and authentication data are stored securely in a Prisma-managed database

  • Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect data from unauthorised access

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share merchant or customer data with third parties.

The App may optionally load Mapbox to display location maps for delivery or collection selection.
When used, Mapbox may receive limited location information (such as a postcode entered by the customer) solely to render the map. No personal customer data is shared with Mapbox.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • All App-related data stored by TruBytes is deleted when the App is uninstalled

  • Merchants may request data deletion at any time by contacting us

  • Shopify metafield data can also be removed directly by the merchant

6. Merchant Rights (GDPR)

Under UK and EU data protection laws, merchants have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about their store

  • Request correction or deletion of data

  • Withdraw consent by uninstalling the App

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements.
