6 made made faggots wrapped in streaky bacon made to our True Bites family recipe, going back 3 generations of butchers. We use a mixture of pork, pigs liver, and pigs heart with a subtle seasoning. The meat is shaped into balls and wrapped in our own True Bites dry cured streaky bacon (we find our customers prefer them wrapped in bacon as opposed to the traditional caul fat).

Faggots are sometimes called Savoury Ducks, and are especially popular in the Midlands, but also in mid and south Wales. Originating as cheap, nutritious food they appealed to ordinary working people, but their popularity soon spread in the mid-nineteenth century.
How to Cook Faggots in Streaky Bacon
Place the faggots in a roasting dish and add gravy (we recommend onion gravy). Cover with foil and oven roast at 180°C/ Fan 160°C/ Gas 4 in the centre of a preheated oven for 1 hour. Make sure faggots are piping hot throughout before serving.
Store at 4°C. Once opened keep refrigerated and use within 24 hours. This product is delivered fresh so is suitable for home freezing. Freeze in your desired portions on day of delivery and defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator before use. Once defrosted do not refreeze.
